Band Member Biographies

Jennifer Leigh  Vocals, Acoustic Guitar  Born in Hialeah, Florida  Jennifer has always found herself seeking out the spotlight.  With a love for performance, she stayed involved in school choirs, vocal ensembles, and theater. During her senior year of high school, Jennifer was chosen as one of 100 participants in the 1991 National Foundation For Advancement In The Arts competition. She won a scholarship and was immediately accepted to several colleges and universities around the country. Jennifer chose Florida State University. During her years there, music and theater fell to the wayside as she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design.In 1995, Sarasota, Florida, became her home where she established herself as an interior designer and headed her own company. Though her business was hot, it wasn't long before Jennifer began moonlighting, singing and playing guitar in local nightspots. In 2001, she joined a very talented jazz and blues trio, The Venturas, beginning her career in music.  The success of Jennifer and the Venturas was unparalled in the area as they became one of the hottest groups to hit the scene. They played most of the hot spots on the Gulf coast of Florida, tons of special events both public and private, as well as on the City Jazz stage at Universal Studios, Orlando. Their group opened for many national talents, including Bobby Vinton and Tony Orlando.In the year 2004, Jennifer was nominated and chosen as a finalist in the Gulfcoast Business Review's "Top 40 young professionals under the age of 40" honors.After a few years to herself, Jennifer has become a wife and mother. It is with great pleasure that she has leapt back into the music scene with the New Digs.

Benjamin RobertsGuitar, VocalsBorn in Detroit, MichiganBen Roberts was born into a musical family; His Father is the Concertmaster of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, and his Grandfather was a Jazz guitarist who performed with the Stan Kenton Orchestra.  Ben is a versatile guitarist and vocalist whose first two instruments were violin and piano at age 5.  While still in grade school, he expressed interest in the guitar, and the rest is history.  Ben studied Jazz Performance and Advanced Jazz Arranging/Composition at Canada’s prestigious McGill University, and has additional certification in Contemporary/Jazz Arranging and Composition. He has performed in many notable events including performances for the Prime Minister of Canada, and with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. As part of the McGill Jazz Orchestra he was featured in the opening concert of the 10th anniversary IAJE Conference in Manhattan.  Ben has been a private instructor of many students over the years, and has also served as Music Director for Royal Caribbean Cruises, managing over 30 musicians from diverse backgrounds. Ben’s music has brought him to over 40 countries, and he speaks five languages; English, French, Spanish, Italian, and Russian.Ben’s debut recording “Live at Lion Studios” was released in April, 2009, and has been well-received by local audiences.

Benjamin Roberts

Ben Roberts was born into a musical family; His Father is the Concertmaster of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, and his Grandfather was a Jazz guitarist who performed with the Stan Kenton Orchestra. Don BrynKeyboard, VocalsBorn in Pittsburgh, PennsylvaniaDon Bryn--pianist, composer, and arranger--has recently moved to Sarasota from Hawai'i after 15 years of touring the globe.  During that time, he has played and conducted for over 300 shows a year, including performances by Burt Bacharach, Lorna Luft, Nestor Torres, John Raitt, Jim Neighbors, and Charro, as well as musical directing and conducting the national revival tour of 7 Brides for 7 Brothers.  He has also played jazz, classical, and cocktail piano, both solo and leading small jazz groups for everything from ballroom dancing to large formal events.  Originally from the Pittsburgh area, Don has also performed with the Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble, and in a very special performance for the Pittsburgh Symphony where he played the piano—in full costume—as Mozart.Don received his Piano Performance and Music Technology degree from Duquesne University as well as his Masters degree in composition.  He has become known for his arrangements for jazz and show bands—skills learned by playing for so many successful 'society' gigs.  Don has composed pieces for everything from classical guitar to new music and electronic ensembles, although composing for large orchestra is his favorite.  He is also an avid photographer, backpacking explorer, speaks Spanish and basic Russian, and is trying to learn Japanese.Don also teaches piano with the philosophy that anyone can enjoy playing music at any level.  He tries to encourage his student's passion while instilling the technique necessary to improve.

Don Bryn

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

They have been proud to share the stage with greats like Kenny Rogers, Lee Greenwood, Larry Gatlin, Lionel Richie, Michael Feinstein and Marvin Hamlisch.  Around 2007, the couple relocated to Sarasota, Florida.Bass guitar is his first and favorite musical instrument and he is delighted to be able to perform with Jennifer Leigh.  His musical influences include Earth Wind and Fire, Tower of Power, Average White Band, Gino Vanelli, Diana Krall and Quincy Jones.  Hobbies are kayaking, tennis, screenwriting and watching the amazing sunsets on any of the area beaches!

Mike Riber
Bass Guitar, Vocals
Born in Dayton, Ohio


Mike has been involved in music all of his life, and it has always been his passion. In grade school, he began playing trumpet. Discovering guitar and bass high school, he joined a stage band that won a trip to the Montreaux Jazz Fest. Soon after college, Mike met his wife, Georgia, and hit the road with her band, traveling the world for the next 25 years. He spent several of those years as her music director and pianist. While spending 18 years in Nashville, Tennessee, Mike and Georgia recorded many albums and jingles. They have been proud to share the stage with greats like Kenny Rogers, Lee Greenwood, Larry Gatlin, Lionel Richie, Michael Feinstein and Marvin Hamlisch. Around 2007, the couple relocated to Sarasota, Florida.

Bass guitar is his first and favorite musical instrument and he is delighted to be able to perform with Jennifer Leigh. His musical influences include Earth Wind and Fire, Tower of Power, Average White Band, Gino Vanelli, Diana Krall and Quincy Jones. Hobbies are kayaking, tennis, screenwriting and watching the amazing sunsets on any of the area beaches!

Bob LunerganDrumsBorn in Boston, MassachusettsBob started playing drums at 11 years old.  Through his teens he performed with several different bands. Bob started playing drums at 11 years old. Through his teens he performed with several different bands. He attended Berklee College of Music in Boston. He has a bachelor’s degree in performance, and a diploma in arranging and composition. Bob has done extensive traveling, including 6 years on cruise ships. His jazz trio set sail on the maiden voyages of Disney’s Magic and Wonder ships.

Recently, Bob has also been working with a marimba band, Woodworks Music, playing everything from Scott Joplin to classical.
